Freedom Declared. Freedom Lived.

As we celebrate Independence Day, Bishop Lisa M. Weah invites us to reflect on a deeper question: What does it truly mean to be free? While we honor our nation’s history, we also acknowledge that freedom declared is not always freedom experienced.

Drawing from Galatians 5:1, this Maximize Moment reminds us that Christ calls us to stand firm in the freedom He has secured for us—not only from injustice, but also from fear, shame, addiction, generational brokenness, and anything that seeks to keep us in bondage.

This Independence Day, celebrate every victory we’ve gained—and keep pursuing every freedom God has promised.
