What if the giants in the Bible weren’t just tall men but the hybrid offspring of fallen angels and human women? In this episode of Not From the Pulpit, Jonathan Helms takes you on a deep dive into one of the Bible’s most intriguing, and terrifying, topics: giants. From Goliath and his four brothers to King Og of Bashan’s 13.5-foot bed, we explore the biblical record. But we don’t stop there, we also examine extra-biblical sources like the Book of Enoch and the Book of Giants from the Dead Sea Scrolls. You’ll learn:

• The truth about Goliath’s size, was he diseased or deadly?
• Why David picked up five stones (hint: Goliath had family).
• Who the Watchers were, and how their sin created the Nephilim.
• What happened to the spirits of dead giants, and why they may now be what we call demons.
• How to understand the spiritual implications of giants still influencing the world today.
• A brief mention of the tallest modern human, Robert Wadlow, and how his life invites deeper questions about what qualifies as a “giant.”

This episode also features a direct and raw conversation with AI, where Jonathan presses for answers; where the giants went and whether they still walk the earth in some form today. 🎵 Theme Music: Two Skies by Tomomi Kato Licensed via Pixabay - https://pixabay.com/music/modern-classical-two-skies-311193
