Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá fuar geimhridh a bhí ann i nGaillimh, nuair a shiúil Seán síos sráid chúng na cathrach.
En: It was a cold winter's day in Galway, when Seán walked down the city's narrow streets.

Ga: Bhí scamaill throm sa spéir agus bhí sráideanna fliuch agus sleamhain.
En: Heavy clouds filled the sky and the streets were wet and slippery.

Ga: Bhí Seán dallta ag an ngaoith ach bhí sé diongbháilte dul abhaile.
En: Seán was blinded by the wind, but was determined to go home.

Ga: Níor mhothaigh Seán an t-am ag sleamhnú thart agus go tobann, mhothaigh sé an t-ocras.
En: Seán didn't notice the time slipping by, and suddenly, he felt hunger.

Ga: Ag iarraidh teacht abhaile go tapa, shíl Seán faoin rogha iontach a bhí aige.
En: Wanting to quickly get home, Seán thought about the fantastic option he had.

Ga: Chonaic sé capall agus carr álainn ag teacht ina threo.
En: He saw a beautiful horse and carriage coming his way.

Ga: Gan smaoineamh, rith Seán chuig an gcarraigín agus léim sé suas taobh thiar den tiománaí.
En: Without thinking, Seán ran to the carriage and leaped up behind the driver.

Ga: "Aonad!
En: "Stop!"

Ga: " ghlaodh an tiománaí, fear críonna le hata mór.
En: shouted the driver, a wise man with a big hat.

Ga: "Cá bhfuil tú ag iarraidh dul, a ógánaigh?
En: "Where do you think you're going, young man?"

Ga: "Bhí ionadh ar Seán agus é ag freagairt, "Abhaile!
En: Seán was surprised and replied, "Home!

Ga: Tá brón orm, cheap mé go bhféadfainn marcaíocht leat.
En: I'm sorry, I thought I could ride with you."

Ga: "Bhí gáire ar an tiománaí.
En: The driver laughed.

Ga: "Ní seirbhís íocshláinte é seo, a bhuachaill óg, ach féach, tá croí mór agam.
En: "This isn't a taxi service, young man, but look, I have a big heart.

Ga: Cuirfidh mé abhaile thú!
En: I'll take you home!"

Ga: "I bhfad amach as baile, bhí Aoife ag obair ina gairdín agus chonaic sí capall agus carr ag stad amach romhainn.
En: Far from home, Aoife was working in her garden and she saw a horse and carriage pulling up in front of her.

Ga: Chuir sí fáilte roimh a cara, Seán, ag tabhairt cupán tae te dó nuair a shroich sé an teach.
En: She welcomed her friend, Seán, offering him a hot cup of tea when he reached the house.

Ga: "Seo duit, Seán, caithfidh tú a bheith fuar tar éis do eachtra!
En: "Here you go, Seán, you must be cold after your adventure!"

Ga: " arsa Aoife.
En: said Aoife.

Ga: Bhailigh Seán agus Aoife le chéile agus labhair siad faoin eachtra a bhain leis an gcapall agus an carr.
En: Seán and Aoife gathered together and talked about the adventure with the horse and carriage.

Ga: "D'fhoghlaim mé ceacht luachmhar inniu, Aoife," arsa Seán.
En: "I learned a valuable lesson today, Aoife," said Seán.

Ga: "Ní neart go cur le chéile agus ní hiad na cosáin is soiléire i gcónaí atá ceart.
En: "There's strength in unity, and it's not always the clearest paths that are right."

Ga: "Aoife agus Seán gáirí agus bhain siad taitneamh as an tráthnóna le chéile, áthasach as an chomhluadar agus as an gcairdeas a bhí eatarthu.
En: Aoife and Seán laughed and enjoyed the evening together, happy with the company and the friendship between them.

Ga: D'fhill Seán abhaile níos déanaí, buíoch as an eachtra a thug tuiscint níos doimhne dó ar luach na cairde agus cabhair ó chroí.
En: Seán returned home later, grateful for the adventure that gave him a deeper understanding of the value of friends and heartfelt assistance.
