Proverbs 7:25 (Berean Standard Bible)"Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths."Freeze the frame!Proverbs seven has been moving like a movie.A young man leaves home, drifts toward the wrong corner, meets the wrong woman and listens to words that sound right coming from the wrong mouth.Before long, he follows her like an ox going to slaughter. You already know this movie isn't ending well.Then, right when the scene ought to fade to black—Freeze!Everybody stops moving. The voice of wisdom steps out of the scene, turns toward the camera and starts talking directly to us.Proverbs seven twenty-five says in the Berean Standard Bible:"Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths."Wisdom just broke the fourth wall!This isn't just about what happened to him. It's about what can happen in us.And notice where the warning begins.Not with his feet.With his heart.The feet stray only after the heart turns.By the time everybody sees the mess outside, the heart may have been turning for a while.That's how self-deception works. It rarely announces, "I'm about to ruin my own life."It says, "I'm only looking.""I deserve this.""I can handle it."And the one that seals the deal for many of us: "Nobody will know."Those little explanations keep the scene moving until one sober thought finally breaks the spell.And hear me: you can clock out without checking all the way out.Rest is a gift from God. Take some time to chill. Just don't give your discernment the day off.Here's the grace in this passage: God doesn't wait until the wreckage to speak. Wisdom interrupts the scene because another ending is still possible.So before the next questionable turn, freeze the frame.Ask yourself: Where is this taking me? What am I calling harmless because I want it? Who can see something here that I can't?Don't wait for the final scene to tell you where the path was headed.Change your route while your heart is still deciding.🔥 REMEMBERYour feet follow paths your heart has already begun choosing.🙏🏽 PRAYERGod, interrupt my drift before my heart chooses the path.🎯 TODAY'S CHALLENGEIdentify one place where you've been explaining away a warning sign.
