In this episode, Nancy and Jose are joined in studio for a fun conversation with Lisa Steinke, the co-author with Liz Fenton of seven different successful fiction novels and the co-host of the hit podcast "We Fight So You Don't Have To." We learn all about the process by which Lisa and Liz manage to write together, whether chapter by chapter or by an outline if it is a suspense thriller. A very special relationship is what makes it all work!

Listen as Lisa shares her early passion for reading, instilled from her Mom and Dad and her early inspiration for writing, the iconic Judy Blume, which Lisa enjoyed in second grade! Lisa also shares the comfort she feels from books and the warmth they bring as they conjure up the feelings of having visited book stores and libraries with her Dad. Even when she isn't reading all the books she owns, she collects and collects, fully understanding that while she may not get to them all, just having the books on her shelves resonates deeply.

Some amazing takeaways from the interview with Lisa Steinke:

- Her concern about a central issue - why some schools have lots of books and some have sparse shelves
- The importance of early reading and how she read while pregnant to her child!
- The changes in the world of book publishing post-Covid
- Jose and Nancy may have a new volunteer!
- The answers to the Rapid Fire questions!

A truly great interview from two purposeful gap minders. Thank you, Lisa (and Liz) for your contributions to literacy and books and for joining us on The Gap Minders.
