What do you think about your own fertility? Can you be grateful for this even if you are not intending to have a baby right now, or maybe even if you are struggling with infertility?

According to my podcast guests this week, restoration is an attitude. Are you trying to cover up your signs of fertility and/or your ability to bring forth life? Or are you learning WHY you are having these signs and what you can do to support your body’s natural functioning?

Nora Pope and Dr. Jessica Liu, ND are naturopathic doctors who are passionate about promoting a restorative approach to fertility. Charting your cycle is a great first step. Then, if you are paying attention to your cycle, you know your normal patterns and know when you need more support.
Here are the take-aways:
-The magic of 5: five days of red flow, 5 days of white flow, and then the second half of your cycle should be 5 x 2-2.5 days (10-12 days)
-If you are going to have blood testing, it needs to be based on your own cycle patterns. Use your cycle as a roadmap
-Low-dose naltrexone can calm down the body (anti-inflammatory) to help with ovulation
-Optimize physiology with acupuncture
-Work with the patient wherever she is at
-Tend the soil first. Your body has to fight the brightest burning fire
-Stop the stigma around male infertility. Up to 50% of infertility might be male-factor
-Look at the WHOLE person
-Increased inflammation is correlated with decreased fertility. Conversely, decreased inflammation is associated with increased fertility
-A diverse gut microbiome means a healthy endometrial lining
-Restoration is an attitude. Are you trying to suppress symptoms or find the cure?
