Although it ceased operations in 1955 due to the U.S. Supreme Court's desegregation order, the building's story didn't end there. It temporarily became a hub for illicit activities before almost being demolished for a parking lot. However, thanks to the dedication of its alumni and the community, the school was saved, preserving its legacy as a symbol of resilience, community pride, and educational empowerment.
