Today on The GIST of It, co-hosts Ellen Hyslop and Steph Rotz are sorting through the latest from two major men’s leagues — the NBA and the NHL.
Tipping things off in hoops, the gals chat through the spice of NBA free agency, including the history and player freedom granted by this system, as well as some of the big names who are considering moves.
Then after the break, El and Steph glide on over to the NHL, where, this week, the league partnered with the Players Association to launch a Player Inclusion Coalition with the goal of diversifying and growing the game. A welcome move for a league that’s lagged far behind in ensuring hockey is for everyone.
