On the 7th September 1998 the world woke up to the news that a doctor in Hyde in Greater Manchester had been arrested for killing his own patients. It would later be revealed that he could have been responsible for the murders of at least 218 people over the several decades that he was practicing medicine. The question was who was Dr Harold Shipman and how had he managed to get away with these murders for all those years?
