The episode breaks down the iconic plot and famous twist of the 1999 supernatural thriller The Sixth Sense. It follows the journey of Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a child psychologist who attempts to help a young boy named Cole Sear, who famously possesses the ability to see and communicate with the dead. Throughout the narrative, Malcolm remains oblivious to the fact that he was actually killed by a former patient at the very beginning of the film and has been operating as a ghost. The episode highlights various subtle clues planted by director M. Night Shyamalan, including the clever use of the color red to signify paranormal contamination and the psychological hurdles that prevent spirits from realizing their own demise. Ultimately, Malcolm helps Cole harness his gift to bring peace to troubled souls, which subsequently allows the doctor to resolve his own earthly regrets and peacefully transition to the afterlife.
