The announcement of a pause on the imposition of new American and Canadian tariffs is good and welcome news for industry and citizens on both sides of the border.  That said, there remains important value in understanding the intricacies of the Canada-U.S. relationship from an economic and fiscal perspective, and the impacts that can emerge when those intricacies are under severe pressure.
