It’s been a slow Star Wars week, so we’ve decided to take a deep dive into Star Wars trading cards of the past 4 decades…

Or, we could talk about The Rise of Skywalker sizzle reel, The Mandalorian trailer, the Kenobi announcement, and more than we can probably fit into an hour.

It's TIME for Tatooine Sons!

On Saturday, guests attending the The Walt Disney Studios panel at D23 Expo 2019 were treated to a montage of classic Star Wars film moments, followed by new scenes from The Rise of Skywalker. Information quickly made its way to the general public, including the fact that the closing scene is of Rey wearing a Sith robe and wielding a double bladed red lightsaber. But when the footage was officially released to the public on Monday, non one was prepared for what they actually saw.

While the BIG news out of D23 Expo is the sizzle reel for The Rise of Skywalker, there were several other MAJOR revelations during the Disney+ panel one week ago, including a new official segmentation of Star Wars history, cast and character announcements for The Mandalorian, and Ewan MacGregor FINALLY gives Star Wars fans a straight answer.

Job: A regional warlord of sorts.
Detail: The Moffs were Sector Governors of the First Galactic Empire. But now that the Empire has collapsed, the governors are on their own, and some still have armies at their behest — and this one is rather ambitious.

Job: Former Shock Trooper turned mercenary.
Detail: Fought in the Galactic Civil War under the banner of the Rebellion.
Greef Carga (Carl Weathers)
Job: Leader of the bounty hunters guild.
Detail: Asks The Mandalorian to take on an assignment that nobody else wants.

“Internally, we’ve wanted this for so long, but we know how much the fans want it too,” she said. “And we know we have to get it right.” McGregor “wanted to come back, and he’s so excited to play the character of Obi-Wan again,” Kennedy shared. “He really does embody who Obi-Wan is. And to think that Alec Guinness was really his mentor and now he’s stepping into those shoes for this series, it’s really exciting.”
