Story Transcript:

Cy: Mewn prydferth dydd o haf, roedd Rhys, Megan, a Gwen yn cerdded tuag at Gastell Caerphilly.
En: On a beautiful summer day, Rhys, Megan, and Gwen were walking towards Caerphilly Castle.

Cy: Roedd hi'n ddiwrnod pwysig, achos y dydd yna oedd y gystadleuaeth dawnsio gwerin Gymreig.
En: It was an important day because it was the day of the Welsh folk dance competition.

Cy: Roedd yr awyr yn las, yr adar yn canu, ac roedd tywysogion a thywysogesau'r dawns yn barod am y digwyddiad.
En: The sky was blue, the birds were singing, and the princes and princesses of the dance were ready for the event.

Cy: Rhys, gyda'i wallt brown ac ei lygaid disglair, oedd y dawnswr gorau yn y pentref.
En: Rhys, with his brown hair and bright eyes, was the best dancer in the village.

Cy: Ond, roedd ganddo un broblem fach.
En: However, he had a small problem.

Cy: Mae'n anghofus.
En: He was forgetful.

Cy: Bob tro byddai Rhys yn colli rhywbeth.
En: Every time Rhys would lose something.

Cy: Beth bynnag, heddiw, roedd ganddo ei hosanau lliwgar, rhai pwysig iawn, i ddawnsio ynddynt yn y gystadleuaeth.
En: Nevertheless, today, he had his colorful socks, some very important ones, to dance in for the competition.

Cy: Megan, gyda'i gwallt coch a'i gwên ehangach na Chastell Caerphilly ei hun, oedd yn cyd-drefnu'r digwyddiad.
En: Megan, with her red hair and wider smile than Caerphilly Castle itself, was organizing the event.

Cy: Roedd hi'n edrych ymlaen at weld pawb yn dawnsio ac yn mwynhau.
En: She was looking forward to seeing everyone dancing and enjoying themselves.

Cy: Gwen, merch ifanc gyda llygaid gleision fel yr afon, oedd yn gyfrifol am ofalu am yr anifeiliaid yn y cae gerllaw.
En: Gwen, a young girl with eyes as blue as the river, was in charge of taking care of the animals in the nearby field.

Cy: Roedd hi'n caru defaid Cymreig ac yn eu cadw'n hapus.
En: She loved Welsh sheep and keeping them happy.

Cy: Wrth i'r dawnsio ddechrau, sylwodd Rhys fod rhywbeth o'i le.
En: As the dancing began, Rhys noticed something amiss.

Cy: Edrychodd i lawr ac, i'w syndod, sylwodd ei fod heb ei hosanau lliwgar!
En: He looked down and, to his surprise, noticed that he didn't have his colorful socks on!

Cy: Sut gallai fod wedi colli ei hosanau yntau?
En: How could he have lost his socks?

Cy: Rhys oedd y nesaf i ddawnsio a dywedodd wrth Megan am ei drafferth.
En: Rhys was next to dance and told Megan about his trouble.

Cy: Chwarddodd Megan a dweud, "Beth am ddefnyddio hosanau arall?
En: Megan suggested, "How about using other socks?"

Cy: " Ond roedd Rhys yn ormod o berffeithiwr.
En: But Rhys was too much of a perfectionist.

Cy: Roedd angen y hosanau lliwgar arno.
En: He needed his colorful socks.

Cy: Gwen a glywodd am y trafferthion a chynnig ei help.
En: Gwen heard about the troubles and offered her help.

Cy: "Byddaf yn dod o hyd i dy hosanau," meddai hi yn hyderus.
En: "I will find your socks," she said confidently.

Cy: Gyda Gwen ar y ffordd, dechreuodd y ddau eraill chwilio yn y cae lle roedd y defaid yn pori.
En: With Gwen on the way, the other two started searching in the field where the sheep were grazing.

Cy: Ar ôl peth amser yn chwilio, dyma Gwen yn dod o hyd i'r hosanau ar gongl o'r cae, wedi'u hamgylchynu gan ddefaid chwilfrydig.
En: After some time searching, Gwen found the socks on a corner of the field, surrounded by curious sheep.

Cy: Roedd yn ddigrif gweld y defaid yn arogli'r hosanau lliwgar.
En: She was amused to see the sheep sniffing the colorful socks.

Cy: Heb oedi, cymerodd Gwen y hosanau a rhedodd yn ôl at Rhys, a oedd nawr wrth ymyl y llwyfan dawnsio yn barod i berfformio.
En: Without hesitation, Gwen took the socks and ran back to Rhys, who was now at the edge of the dancing stage ready to perform.

Cy: Rhoddodd y hosanau ar ei draed, a hefo gwên fawr, camodd Rhys ar y llwyfan.
En: She put the socks on his feet, and with a big smile, Rhys stepped onto the stage.

Cy: Daeth pobol o bob cwr y sir i wylio, a phan roedd Rhys yn dawnsio gyda'i hosanau lliwgar, roedd pawb yn clapo.
En: People from all over the county came to watch, and when Rhys danced with his colorful socks, everyone clapped.

Cy: Roedd ei symudiadau'n gain ac yn hardd, fel cerddoriaeth y wlad ei hun.
En: His movements were skillful and beautiful, like the country's own music.

Cy: Ar ddiwedd y dydd, enillodd Rhys y gystadleuaeth, a diolchodd i Megan a Gwen am eu help.
En: At the end of the day, Rhys won the competition and thanked Megan and Gwen for their help.

Cy: Megan chwerthin a gwên ar ei hwyneb, a Gwen yn falch iddi allu helpu.
En: Megan laughed and smiled, and Gwen was proud to have helped.

Cy: A dyna sut mae'n dod i ben, ar ddiwrnod hyfryd o haf ym mhentref prydferth ger Castell Caerphilly, pan enillodd Rhys y gystadleuaeth dawnsio gwerin, gyda help ei ffrindiau a'r hosanau lliwgar o'r diwedd yn eu lle.
En: And that's how it ends, on a lovely summer day in a beautiful village near Caerphilly Castle, when Rhys won the folk dance competition, with the help of his friends and the colorful socks finally in their place.
