Story Transcript:

Sr: U jednom malom selu, blizu starog mosta, nalazila se kafana "Pod lipom".
En: In a small village, near the old bridge, there was a tavern called "Under the Linden Tree."

Sr: Bila je to tipična kafana srpska, sa debelim zidovima i teškim drvenim stolovima.
En: It was a typical Serbian tavern, with thick walls and heavy wooden tables.

Sr: Na jednom od mnogobrojnih svadbi, zvanice su veselo čekale da mladenci dođu i počnu slavlje.
En: At one of the many weddings, the guests eagerly awaited the arrival of the bride and groom to begin the celebration.

Sr: Nikola, uvek spreman za šalu, pokušao je da priđe Milici sa čašom rakije, želeći da nazdravi.
En: Nikola, always ready for a joke, tried to approach Milica with a glass of brandy, wanting to make a toast.

Sr: "Živeli!
En: "Cheers!"

Sr: " - viknuo je sa osmehom, ali tada se nešto neočekivano dogodilo.
En: he shouted with a smile, but then something unexpected happened.

Sr: Okliznuo se na mokrom podu i nehotice prosuo rakiju pravo na Milicine kosu.
En: He slipped on the wet floor and accidentally spilled the brandy right onto Milica's hair.

Sr: "Oh, ne!
En: "Oh no!"

Sr: " - uzviknula je Milica, a svi gosti su se okrenuli da vide šta se to dogodilo.
En: Milica exclaimed, and all the guests turned to see what had happened.

Sr: Njen iznenađeni lik pratio je salva smeha.
En: Her surprised expression was met with a burst of laughter.

Sr: Petar, Milicin brat, koji je sedeo u uglu kafane, držeći malu harmoniku, nije mogao da veruje šta vidi.
En: Petar, Milica's brother, who sat in the corner of the tavern holding a small accordion, couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Sr: Da li je to bio Nikola, njegov školski drug, polivajući njegovu sestru rakijom?
En: Was that Nikola, his schoolmate, pouring brandy on his sister?!

Sr: Trenutak kakav se retko viđa pretvorio se u jednu od najzabavnijih priča te večeri.
En: A moment rarely seen turned into one of the funniest stories of the evening.

Sr: Kako je veče odmicalo, iščekivali su da vide koja će sve komična nesporazumevanja nastati.
En: As the evening went on, they awaited to see what other comical misunderstandings would arise.

Sr: Milica, sada mirišljavši na rakiju, pristala je da otplesa kolo sa Nikolom kao znak pomirenja.
En: Milica, now smelling of brandy, agreed to dance the circle dance with Nikola as a sign of reconciliation.

Sr: Ali dok su vrtili kolo, Nikola je ponovo, kao po nekoj nesrećnoj sudbini, spotakao se o istu onu mokru mrlju, završivši ovaj put sa svadbenom tortom po cipelama.
En: But as they spun in the dance, Nikola once again, as if by some unfortunate fate, stumbled over the same wet spot, this time ending up with the wedding cake on his shoes.

Sr: Kako se veče zavrsilo, Petar se popne na sto, misleći da će odsvirati nešto na harmoniku, ali umesto toga, polio je vodu po pantalonama, praveći se da mu se Nikola osvetio za sestrinu kosu napoljenu rakijom.
En: As the evening drew to a close, Peter climbed onto the table, thinking he would play something on the accordion, but instead, he spilled water on his pants, pretending that Nikola had gotten back at him for his sister's brandy-soaked hair.

Sr: Na kraju, svi su se smejali svim nezgodama koje su se dogodile.
En: In the end, everyone laughed at all the mishaps that had occurred.

Sr: Nikola, Milica i Petar postali su još bolji prijatelji i ispraćena je još jedna svadba u kafani "Pod lipom" uz pesmu, smeh i nezaboravne uspomene.
En: Nikola, Milica, and Peter became even better friends, and another wedding at the "Under the Linden Tree" tavern ended with songs, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
