Story Transcript:

Ro: Într-o zi însorită, pe străzile largi ale Bucureștiului, se plimba Ion, un bărbat simplu dintr-un sat de lângă oras.
En: On a sunny day, in the wide streets of Bucharest, Ion, a simple man from a village near the city, walked.

Ro: Avea o cămașă albă, bine călcată, și o privire pierdută printre clădirile înalte care îi umbreau pașii.
En: He was wearing a well-ironed white shirt and had a lost look in his eyes among the tall buildings that shaded his steps.

Ro: Ion venise în capitală pentru prima dată.
En: Ion had come to the capital for the first time.

Ro: Totul îi părea mare și aglomerat, iar străzile se încrucișau neliniștitor, ca niște fire de păianjen.
En: Everything seemed big and crowded to him, and the streets intersected restlessly, like spider threads.

Ro: Ion era obișnuit cu liniștea satului său, unde fiecare colț era familiar, unde casele aveau grădini și unde puteai auzi cântatul cocoșilor la orice oră din zi.
En: Ion was used to the quiet of his village, where every corner was familiar, houses had gardens, and you could hear roosters singing at any time of the day.

Ro: Astăzi, venise să-și viziteze nepotul, dar întâmplarea a făcut să rateze stația de autobuz și să se rătăcească printre umbrele orașului.
En: Today, he had come to visit his nephew, but by chance he missed the bus stop and got lost among the city's shadows.

Ro: Fără a ști încotro să o ia, burdușit de emoții și de dorul casei, Ion căuta un loc de liniște, poate o biserică, să se poată ruga și să-și adune gândurile.
En: Not knowing which way to go, burdened with emotions and longing for home, Ion was looking for a peaceful place, perhaps a church, to pray and gather his thoughts.

Ro: După mai multe colțuri răsucite, ochii îi căzură pe o clădire cu ferestre mari, colorate, din care se auzea muzică și o voce caldă, care părea să îi cheme pe oameni laolaltă.
En: After several twisting corners, his eyes fell on a building with large, colorful windows, from which music could be heard and a warm voice that seemed to call people together.

Ro: Gândind că e vorba de o biserică cu un cor neobișnuit, Ion se îndreptă hotărât spre ușa strălucitoare.
En: Thinking it was an unusual church with a choir, Ion headed determinedly towards the shiny door.

Ro: Odată intrat, își dădu seama că ceva era diferit.
En: Once inside, he realized something was different.

Ro: Lumina era colorată, zgomotul bubuitor, iar oamenii păreau foarte veseli pentru un serviciu religios.
En: The light was colorful, there was a booming noise, and the people seemed very cheerful for a religious service.

Ro: În mâinile lor nu ţineau candele, ci microfoane, iar în loc de rugăciuni, cântau cu entuziasm pe o scenă luminoasă.
En: They didn't hold candles in their hands, but microphones, and instead of prayers, they enthusiastically sang on a bright stage.

Ro: Ion se afla într-un bar de karaoke!
En: Ion found himself in a karaoke bar!

Ro: "Vrei să cânți?
En: "Would you like to sing?"

Ro: ", îl întrebă o chelneriță veselă și prietenoasă.
En: asked a cheerful and friendly waitress.

Ro: Ion, încurcat dar curios, mormăi un "da" timid.
En: Ion, confused but curious, mumbled a shy "yes."

Ro: În cele din urmă, cu un pic de încurajare, Ion a urcat pe scenă, a ales un cântec popular și a început să cânte.
En: Finally, with a little encouragement, Ion took to the stage, chose a popular song, and started to sing.

Ro: Glasul său puternic a umplut sala, iar oamenii au început să bată ritmul cu picioarele și să aplaude.
En: His powerful voice filled the room, and the people began to tap their feet and applaud.

En: He felt triumphant and, for the first time since arriving in the big city, he felt at home.

Ro: În mulțime, cu un zâmbet larg și plin de mândrie, îl observă pe nepotul său.
En: In the crowd, with a wide smile and full of pride, his nephew noticed him.

Ro: Maria, prietena băiatului, a deslușit confuzia și a venit să-l salveze pe bătrân.
En: Maria, the boy's girlfriend, deciphered the confusion and came to rescue the old man.

Ro: După ce Ion a terminat cântecul, aceasta și nepotul său i-au aplaudat, iar Maria a spus râzând: "Ei bine, nu e chiar un serviciu divin, dar s-ar putea să fi găsit o altă congregație aici!
En: After Ion finished his song, she and his nephew applauded, and Maria said laughing, "Well, it's not exactly a divine service, but you might have found another congregation here!"

Ro: "După acea noapte minunată, Ion nu se simți niciodată singur sau pierdut in București.
En: After that wonderful night, Ion never felt lonely or lost in Bucharest.

Ro: Ba chiar a mai revenit în barul de karaoke, unde devenise un fel de vedetă locală.
En: He even returned to the karaoke bar, where he had become a kind of local star.

Ro: Orașul nu mai era un labirint ci un loc de aventură și, mai ales, de prietenie.
En: The city was no longer a maze but a place of adventure and, most importantly, friendship.

Ro: Ion își găsise o comunitate neașteptată, iar povestea lui începută cu o rătăcire, se sfârșea cu aplauze și cântece.
En: Ion had found an unexpected community, and his story that began with wandering ended with applause and songs.
