Of all the classic disaster films – The Sun is on Fire, Chernobyl Ebola, Trench – perhaps the only one that was ever set in Essex was the 2001 classic Chelmsford is Sinking. In this director’s commentary, Sheridan recalls his brief affair with Harrison Ford, machines that draw wavy lines on long bits of paper, and trying to get Chelmsford town council to agree to building a snow-capped mountain on the outskirts of town.
