* Melissa Nann Burke (Twitter @nannburke) of the Detroit News recounts the harrowing day that the Capitol was overrun. ML Elrick (Twitter @elrick/Facebook ML ELRICK/Instagram ml_elrick), Marc Fellhauer (Twitter @MarcFell) and Shawn Windsor (Twitter @ShawnWindsor) listen in rapt attention. Matt Jennings (Twitter @MattRJennings) makes some “jokes" while Joey Zuver keeps his head down.* THE STRAIGHT DOPE: Melissa Nann Burke had a front row seat in the press gallery as security officers pointed their Glocks at domestic terrorists trying to stop Congress from certifying the winner of the 2020 presidential election. She tells us what she saw, including what she was thinking when she sent her husband this message: “I love you.” Read all about it here.* The invaders who defiled the Capitol scrawled this graffiti on a wall: “Murder the media.” Needless to say, ML has something to say about this.* Lest you think this episode is an anti-Trump rant, consider that the vandals were chanting “Hang Pence” and had built a gallows. That said, Shawn isn’t a big fan of POTUS, and ML muses what he might do with 5 minutes alone with Junior.* Marc says he thinks the Republican Party has moved on from Donald Trump. Shawn is encouraged that a survey shows that 53% of Republicans agree. ML says he believes the angry mob who broke into the Capitol were there before Trump — and will be there long after.* A viewer accuses ML of hypocrisy. Hear his response.* Shawn drops a couple F-bombs. Apologizes. Then drops another F-bomb. (He also uses the Lord’s name in vain.)* THE GREAT DEBATE: Should social media giants Twitter and Facebook have shut down the president’s accounts? Was it OK to basically smother Parler? The boys chop it up. * GEEK OF THE WEEK: Something is seriously, seriously wrong with Marc and Shawn. Luckily, ML saves the day. AGAIN.* THIS WEEK IN SOFT HISTORY:Professor Jennings’ delivery is like the pandemic post office. (Listen and discuss amongst yourselves.)* ROOM 7609: NuWave Dave turns us on to “Tyranny” by the Stabilizers. None of the guys have heard it before. Find out if they want to hear it ever again — and  find out which major director was responsible for some of their videos. Even if you’ve never seen any of the Stabilizers’ videos, you’ve seen this guy’s movies.* FIRST AMENDMENT TIME: Katrina tries to take over the show, but Marc won’t let ML let her. There’s lots of other good feedback — and even some voicemails!* HARD OUT: Need a new ride? Roy O’Brien has been putting metro Detroiters on wheels for 74 years. Before you shop anywhere else, get on the right track to 9 Mile and Mack and check out their super groovy showroom. Find our more at www.royobrien.net.* Don’t lose your mind trying to make sense of the financial markets.
