Patreon August, this year focused on Mickey Rourke, kicks off with one of the few horror films to feature both Rourke and Robert De Niro, and it happens to be a noir too. Written and directed by Alan Parker from William Hjortsberg's novel Falling Angel, Angel Heart stars Rourke as private eye Harry Angel, hired by the mysterious Louis Cyphre, played by De Niro, to find out what happened to Johnny Favorite, a crooner who made a deal and then seemingly vanished. The trail runs from New York to New Orleans as Harry learns that everything and everyone are not as they seem. Lisa Bonet and Charlotte Rampling co-star. Father Malone of Noise Junkies and Heather Drain of Mondo Heather join to talk cinematic Satan, the film's portrayal of voodoo, and that name.
Father Malone of Noise Junkies and Heather Drain of Mondo Heather join Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Alan Parker, Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, and so much more.
