The outcome of the November 11, 2023 off-cycle governorship election in Imo State has raised the dust on the future of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Anambra State.
The dust was raised when Michael Chibuzor, media aide to the senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah claimed that the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo had become jittery of Senator Ubah and the All Progressives Congress about the 2025 govrrnorship poll in the state following the victory of the APC in Imo and Kogi states.
In retort, the National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe claimed that not only will APGA disgrace Ubah and the APC , but will also not spare the APC Chairman, in the state, Basil Ejidike who had also claimed that APGA will die a natural death in 2025.
Since 2006 when Mr. Peter Obi was sworn in as the first governor produced by the party, APGA has held sway in Anambra State till date.
Does the outcome of the Imo guber poll indeed spell doom for APGA in Anambra State. Does the planned defection by bigwigs to APC pose a challenge to the relevance of APGA. What grand plan does APGA have to wave off these seeming threats ahead of the next Guber poll in the state come 2025.
