An Intercessor's Burden

My soul weeps deep within
for God’s people living in sin!
Too many souls in church are dying;
Committing adultery, gossiping, and lying!

I see dead souls sitting in pews.
The dead to flesh are very few.
The dead to God are many in number;
They are spiritually in a deep slumber!

I hear God's word like a sound of thunder!
The dead to God continue to slumber.
The dead to flesh shine forth like gold;
An excellent people, righteous and bold!

The dead to God arise and rebel!
The dead to God;the sons of hell!
They pretend to love God and His ways;
Their hearts are stubborn and won’t obey!

The dead to God are bound to tradition.
They live in a box called man’s religion.
They resist godly change; they are deceived.
They’re stumbling blocks to those who believe!

The words they speak steal and kill.
Their love is cold and creates a chill.
They do whatever they think and feel.
They refuse to confess their sin and be healed!

Many say that Christ is King;
Many preach His word, teach, and sing.
And yet their lives just don’t line up;
Their thoughts and ways are morally corrupt!

They worship the gods of comfort and fun.
They love to play and bathe in the sun!
They go to clubs and love to dance.
They live their lives on luck and chance.

They cannot hear, they cannot see!
Their #1 concern is me, me, me!
In times of trouble, they'll cry and pray,
But refuse to turn from their evil ways!

What horrible disaster will it take?
When will God's folk finally awake?
Like a stubborn mule, they refuse to budge.
They willfully forget that God is a judge!

My heart cries out for the church to be saved;
To be mindful of the way she behave.
“Workout your soul’s salvation with fear”
and be a doer of the things you hear!

The eyes of America have fallen asleep;
Drugs and violence fill her streets.
I tremble for America’s soul;
Her heart towards God is hard and cold!

She receives blessings from God’s hand,
But refuse to obey His holy commands!
She enjoys His air, His water and trees,
But she won't repent and bow her knees!

She invites sin with open arms.
She ignores all warnings and alarms!
She pursues and worships success and fame.
Many of her leaders give us grief and shame!

Many Americans go to church,
But their hearts are covered in this world's dirt!
Their righteousness “is as filthy rags!”
They love to eat, drink, and brag!

Repent.......before it’s too late!
Repent of your greed, your pride, your hate!
Repent of your “don’t care” attitude!
You believe you are clothed, but you are nude!

If you willfully sin then you shall die!
Obey God’s word and reject every lie.
God is the Shepherd of a righteous flock.
We reap what we sow; God is not mocked!

Obedient hearts are admitted to heaven;
Not spots, wrinkles, blemishes and leaven!
Always strive to give God your best;
He won’t accept anything less!

Deceived hearts have itching ears;
They only hear what they want to hear!
They try to serve God and serve their flesh;
They’ll never enter God’s place of rest!

Perilous times; the end draws near.
Multiple sorrows and many tears!
The last days are marked by deception.
Many will reject God’s love and correction!

Christ is returning for a holy bride.
Will you be ready or shamefully hide?
Will you continue to "skate on thin ice"?
Will you foolishly gamble and miss Paradise?

Hell is a terrible, dreadful place;
A place of torment and total waste!
Don’t give Satan place in your flesh;
Awake and arise to God’s righteousness!

The words I speak may seem stern;
But I write with a heart of loving concern.
Avoid the very appearance of sin;
He who endures to the end shall win!

His servant,
Sandra G. Williams
