KCPR 91.3 presents SLO-FI, a podcast about the unique local music culture of San Luis Obispo. Nestled on the Central Coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco, San Luis Obispo has become a music destination, as well as a cultural hub for local artists, bands, and music venues.
We welcome back to the pod a friend of the show –– Ivan Ditscheiner!! Ivan has been a staple of SLO's music scene over the past 360 days. He has been a judge for Shabang's Battle of the Bands, recorded and mixed albums from bands such as Krooks and Couch Dog, and has worked with media outlets like Wav.zine and... KCPR!
In this episode, we give you a tour through Ivan's nonprofit recording studio, "The Rec Hub". To help explain some of the audio gear, our editor Pat Blaine joins the show!
While we were in the studio, we had a chance to talk with Margot Sinclair as they recorded their newest EP with Ivan. We talked about how their band formed and why they choose to come to The Rec Hub over anywhere else.
