Motels are an iconic part of the American landscape. The idea was to create a drive-up friendly hotel for people on road trips to quickly stop for the night and then continue on their way. They are often charming and quirky places that are affordable for weary travelers or people on vacation who like the laid back atmosphere. Who doesn’t love the sight of a classic motel alongside the highway? Generally, people check into a motel to have a safe place to rest and then check out the next day. Sometimes though, once you check in, you will never check out.
