Johnny Mac delivers Daily Comedy News covering Trevor Noah’s World Cup commentary about FIFA corruption and U.S. government interference, noting Noah’s live streams draw about 250,000 views. He recaps Dave Chappelle’s July 4 CNN appearance with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, where Chappelle answers a question about being proud to be American by praising his “countrymen.” The main story is the 25th anniversary of The Office (UK): a BBC special reunites Mackenzie Crook and Martin Freeman, while Ricky Gervais marks the anniversary on YouTube with 25 David Brent moments and fan Q&As; Freeman disputes Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s claims the show was entirely scripted, describing it as “loose.” A David Brent bust is unveiled at a Premier Inn in Slough. The episode also covers Adam Sandler officiating Taylor Swift’s wedding and being spotted for ice cream and basketball, Amy Schumer joking online about not being invited, low view counts for some YouTube late-night shows, and Will Arnett describing Madonna doing 40 minutes of standup.
