Johnny Mac covers comedy industry news, focusing first on Nikki Glaser hosting the Time 100 event and questioning whether she bombed, noting the crowd wasn’t mic’d well and suggesting a “cool Hollywood” room may have been reluctant to laugh; he plays a trimmed clip of her monologue, including jokes about publicists, the list, Victoria Beckham, and Gayle King/Katy Perry. He also shares awkward clips from Glaser on Kelly Ripa where her short skirt is mentioned and they discuss her Time cover. Deadline’s ongoing reporting on Netflix Is a Joke frames the festival as “haves and have-nots,” citing many big names (Shane Gillis, Louis C.K., John Mulaney, Katt Williams, Nate Bargatze, Seinfeld/Leanne Morgan, Jim Gaffigan) with unsold tickets while smaller buzzy comics sell out smaller venues. Mac reviews Kevin Hart’s “Funny AF” competition format and discusses “Emperor of Rome syndrome,” then briefly praises Ramy Youssef’s special and quotes Ramy and David Cross on crafting sets and not catering to algorithms. Gossip items include a Giants manager attending Dave Chappelle at The Punchline and Chappelle commissioning a beeswax sculpture, plus Patton Oswalt voicing Stephen King’s upcoming Talisman-trilogy audiobook.
