Johnny Mac hosts Daily Comedy News and focuses on ABC’s TV night featuring the Scrubs reboot and Nate Bargatze’s new game show The Greatest Average American, premiering right after Scrubs.

He shares the show’s premise (contestants predict how everyday Americans think and live), the $67,920 “average American salary” grand prize, and Bargatze’s comments about creating the show, doing challenges without advance knowledge, and hoping the prize tracks changes in the economy.

Johnny compares the concept to an older Jim Breuer/Jeff Foxworthy bit about being “in touch,” and jokes about his own trivia night plans and possible jury duty.

He also runs through Chowhound’s ranking of John Mulaney’s non-alcoholic beers (Classic Pale third, Belgian Wit second, Original Pilsner first), mentions Ready Steady Cut’s 3.5/5 review of Taylor Tomlinson’s new special (including discussion of religious trauma and coming out as bisexual), and reports that Russell Brand pleaded not guilty to charges in London with trial expected in June.
