In this very enjoyable episode, Nancy and Jose are joined in studio by a passionate champion of women, children and an advocate for health - Idara Inwek Ogunsaju, the CEO of the Antorge Group. Fused from the first names of her parents, Antorge is an organization focused on building self-confidence in women and helping organizations build and foster a confidence of culture. And where does Idara's skills and confidence come from you might be wondering? A life that brought her from Nigeria - fueled by a desire at age nine to be in healthcare - to healthcare management positions at Kaiser, running various departments from neurology to rheumatology. Quite the journey!

Idara also discusses her involvement in important San Diego organizations, including LEAD San Diego, whose Board she has Chaired (Nancy and Jose are also LEAD alums!) and her current position as the Board Chair for the San Diego Council on Literacy. We even learn that Idara discovered as a result of her involvement with SDCOL that her parents also served on literacy Boards in Nigeria. Talk about coming full circle! When it comes to books and literacy, we feel a real passion. Particularly powerful was how she described the most impactful books ever - Tom Thumb and Thumbelina. Why were they so impactful? Because she OWNED them! A gift from her Dad, she treasured that they were hers.

A truly special episode. Here are some other amazing takeaways from the interview with Idara Inwek Ogunsaju:

- Her thoughts on health literacy
- Idara's perspective on self-confidence building in women
- A gap she cares about: maternal health and survival rates
- The answers to the Rapid Fire questions!

From Nigeria to San Diego, an impactful interview from a phenomenal gap minder and role model. Thank you, Idara, for your passion for literacy, lifting the self-confidence of women, and for joining us on The Gap Minders.
