On April 2 of this year, Breanna Micciolo dropped off her six-year-old son, Corey, at his father’s house in Barnegat, New Jersey for their scheduled visitation. She expected to pick him up that afternoon, but instead, she got a phone call from Corey’s father saying they were headed to the hospital. By the time Breanna figured out what was happening, the police were on her doorstep with the worst news any mother could ever receive: her precious little first-grader was dead.

Since Corey’s death, Breanna has received no information from the police, the medical examiner, or the prosecutor’s office regarding what happened to her son, and to date, no arrests have been made. This is a story of the failure of child protective services to do the one thing they’re tasked with doing. It’s also the story of a family court’s failure to believe a mother trying her very hardest to protect her child from abuse.

In this episode, you’ll also hear my conversation with Corey’s heartbroken mom, Breanna, who wants not only justice for her son but also protection for other children in situations like his.

This is the gut-wrenching story of Corey Micciolo.

This episode broke my heart. I actually cried while listening to this episode in my car. My heart goes out to his mother. Something needs to be done about Child protective Services in every single state and there needs to be a devision of police or maybe even FBI that look over cases involving anyone, active or retired police officers and their families. There needs to be someone unbaised and outside to look at these cases because thier own people looking them over is never beneificial. I seriously hope that a cause of death is released soon and charges are brought up against this evil being. I will not call him a man or a human. He could have left well enough alone and allowed Corey and his mother to go on with their life like they had for years without him. He had to sneak his way into their life and force his hand and then take away the most precious person in Breanna's life. I signed the petition and I shared it with every one I know. My heart is with this family and this sweet little boy.
