“When are you going to get a proper job?“

For our latest episode, Kenneth got to speak with the man who inspired his early forays into fundraising, the confirmed BDIF: Mr Ken Burnett.

We go global to discuss 43 years as a fundraiser, how he started at the top and worked his way down. Ken tells us how he was sat furthest from the fire as a kid, came up with the name Action-Aid as a young man and his hopes for the next generation of fundraisers. James is inspired by a Japanese monk and gives a shout out to Pliny the Younger. Kenneth wonders about charity leaders and recounts his never-before-mentioned appearance in print. We hear about how communications forms the basis of fundraising, why charity managers wish they had thought of IWITOT and what we can do to invest in training.

After singing Alfie Waldron and Jean the Bee Lady’s praises, we finish our episode with a Geordie-off - Kenneth Foreman vs Nikki Bell - chatting through how current situation has changed the plans for I Wish I’d Thought Of That and their tips for working from home.
