The Bryan city council Tuesday night unanimously voted to approve an economic development and a ground lease agreement to bring an indoor golf and entertainment center to the new superpark.

The project involves almost 12 acres at the southwest corner of the former city golf course for a combination of indoor golf, food and beverage service, and sports bars.

The developer anticipates hiring 10 to 12 full time employees with salaries between $55,000 and $90,000 dollars a year, along with up to 120 part-time employees.

Developers will pay full property taxes...estimated at $40,000 a year...on the 52,000 square foot building.

After five years in business, developers would give the city six percent of their adjusted gross revenue.

The council is being asked to give developers a $100,000 dollar grant and waive an estimated $50,000 in construction related fees.

This podcast includes comments from mayor Andrew Nelson and councilmen Buppy Simank, Reuben Marin, and Brent Hairston.
