I stopped for a moment after typing the title of this entry. Lift The Path. I wanted to change it to Lyft The Path. Lyft as in the way so many travel today. I've struggled for many years over this plan or idea of never truly getting to see the path we're supposed to be following. We've been told so many times to follow your dreams. When you get there does anything look familiar? I love sitting down to swap journeys with those who are traveling through life and all its missions. Upon that path I've met with a lot of people that walked away from what they went to school for. They felt deep in their souls that this was their calling in life. The path! Once there it all began to fade. I've been a radio broadcaster for forty one years. The one thing I didn't plan for was turning 57. The path changed. Only to realize how much there's never been a path but rather a connection to options and opportunities. In prayer and meditation I ask a lot of questions. I ask to see the path. I want to physically touch the path. I think it holds so many answers. On this podcast I go into the pages of the daily writing where I do nothing more then seek out the broken rocks, dirt, tree roots or whatever that's supposed to look like a path. I've walked the paths at McDowell Park in Charlotte for 35 years. Every dog we've adopted has been on that path with me. I hold every memory so close to my soul. The hot days on the path versus the moments of cloud bursts or just plain exhaustion. That path has never changed only the trees and plants have. The path has faced erosion but continues to be seen and experienced in ways that enlighten the imagination to keep planting your feet forward. The path! Don't want to see your path? At the very end of this podcast something totally strange happened. It was if life touched my walk and way. For five minutes I'm talking about how unfair it is to not see the path and then an answer is planted in my heart. If we are mindfully living in the present. The awareness of now. There needs to be no path only gratefulness.
