The program explores the theme of human destiny through various musical eras. The first part features soprano Fatma Said, performing Gluck's aria with the Il Giardino d’Amore ensemble, Mozart's Requiem, and Andalusian lyrical songs. The second part focuses on 20th-century musical responses to social change. The neoclassical works of Poulenc and Tailleferre are contrasted with Georges Auric's cinematic take on the Orpheus myth in post-war Paris. The repertoire also examines the impact of modernization and war, featuring Arthur Honegger's Dies Irae conducted by Herbert von Karajan, Aleksandr Mosolov's constructivist piece Iron Foundry, and Hanns Eisler's Agitato. The concert concludes with Alban Berg's song performed by baritone Matthias Goerne.
