On this week's group chat, we discuss holiday traditions, list some things we wish we could put on a wish list, share some stuff we love on the Roundabout Roundup, have a chat with Robert Rummel-Hudson, and do some shameless self-promotion. Here's your road map to the episode: 05:31 'Tis the Season — Traditions rule this time of year, but sometimes traditions change with time and the nearness of family, and sometimes new members (or overzealous teachers) make for new traditions. We share our family traditions and wish Catherine all kinds of luck on that big card-sending dream. 17:20 Speed Round: Wishful Wishing — Terri's post on the Friendship Circle blog listing things we wish we could get as gifts inspired this week's special Speed Round. Wouldn't you really love to find a nice nap all wrapped up for you? 24:45 Parenting Roundabout Roundup — Terri is still digging Apple Music; Catherine's excited to be able to download stuff from Netflix; and Nicole is all about that Panera Bread app. 29:02 Interview of the Week — On our monthly visit with Robert Rummel-Hudson (author of Schuyler's Monster and blogger at Support for Special Needs), the topic under discussion is protest fatigue. Is it worth all the anger and upset to call out every case of injustice against people with disabilities? How can we possibly draw a line about which ones aren't worth caring about? (For more of Rob's thoughts on the subject, and a link to Schuyler's video mentioned in our conversation, read his post today on Support for Special Needs.) 46:14 Shameless Self-Promotion — Terri already did her shameless self-promotion up in the Speed Round, but she suggests you go check out the Friendship Circle blog anyway and see what else she's been up to; Nicole is still giving away books on inclusion by Julie Causton on her Inclusive Class website, so get to it; and Catherine has an article on VeryWell on holiday-themed games for kids. Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music. If you're reading this somewhere without hyperlinks, come to http://parentingroundabout.com for the full recap experience.
