130 members of Texas A&M's Corps of Cadets received military commissions as part of graduation weekend ceremonies.

Cadets completing the Army's ROTC program were sworn in as second lieutenants by Secretary of the Army Mark Esper.

After the ceremony, Dr. Esper told reporters it wasn't his first contact with Aggies. He says he met A&M graduates during his ten years of active duty.

He talked about recruiting not only future officers but future enlisted and civilian personnel.

And the secretary was asked about the Army's new Futures Command, which is based in Austin but involves Texas A&M and the A&M system.
