Last August, the Brazos County road and bridge department closed I & GN Road between Graham and Capstone.
Major repairs won't start until the end of September at the soonest.
County engineer Prarthana Banerji says the county is pursuing an option that lowers the elevation of the roadbed...which was built on an old railroad...by an average of six to eight feet.
Banerji says if the county touches the creek or the creek bed, they have to get a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers that takes two to three years to obtain.
The project will also replace driveway culverts.
