Senate Democrats blocked a resolution Tuesday that aimed at reducing the debate time allowed for certain sub-cabinet and judicial nominations. Republicans had hoped to drastically speed up the confirmation process for Trump’s nominees in order to fill hundreds of empty positions. They are expected to make another attempt using a simple majority.
