Moving the economy of Saudi Arabia away from primarily oil and gas could involve Texas A&M's college of medicine.

The purpose of a three day international meeting on the A&M campus this week is finalizing a public-private international partnership for a multiple year research study to investigate stem cell therapies for those with Alzheimer's disease.

This audio file includes comments from A&M system chancellor John Sharp, Brett Cornwell, who manages technology commercialization at A&M, and officials of Houston based stem cell company Celltex.

The delegation from Saudi Arabia represented that country's academic research, science and technology communities.
