I was blessed with the opportunity to host a 4.5 hour lecture the other day. I started the morning off with a simple question. So simple that I knew it would land deep in the souls of every person present and they'd have more questions for me then the one single question I was holding. "How can I help you get through your skepticism?" Whomp! Down they went! Suddenly the clown in the center ring wasn't being captain positive and funny. Skepticism is a dream breaker. It's that voice in your head. That silence in your heart. That map changer fully capable of putting your feet in unexpected places of change. We're all skeptics. But how can we help steal the steam from it's fire starter? Living in the present puts you ahead of where skepticism wants you to grow. I call it, "Living in the is." This is how I'm going to think. This is how I'm going to grow. This is the moment I have control over." Absolutely the skeptic is present. But you own the now. It's only a backseat driver. I keep six different journals with me at all times. I don't mind listening to the reasons why skepticism has shown it's ugly face but I won't let it be the reason why I'm moving forward and outward. I must drive my wife crazy. Without hesitation I drop everything and begin writing. Be in the is... This is my choice to write in the moment to which I'm mindfully grateful for. Skepticism hates that kind of positive action and reaction. You aren't giving it fuel to flood your thinking.
