The current conversation around Team New Zealand asking for a hosting fee is disappointing, former Team NZ sailor and yachting commentator Tony Rae said this morning.
Rae joined Radio Sport Breakfast to discuss the latest reaction around the developing story and how keen people are for the event to be held in New Zealand.
Rae and the hosts doubt that Grant Dalton is shopping the event around, and he needs to clarify his view on the matter.
He also acknowledged yachting can't shake the perception it's a 'rich, white man's sport' because it is actually partially true.
