Welcome to another episode of Actually, You Can! For this episode I had the absolute honour of interviewing none other than Chris Bond, father of two and two-time World Champion, two-time Paralympic Gold Medalist and the Captain of the Australian Wheelchair Rugby Team, the Steelers.
Before Chris Bond was an international wheelchair rugby star, he was a 19-year-old battling acute promyelocytic leukaemia. He survived, but lost his left hand, right fingers and legs below the knees to a bacterial infection. Chris overcame these challenges and is now one of the best 3.5 wheelchair rugby players in the world living a life he once thought was no longer possible.
Chris is an inspiring human in every sense of the word. If you've ever doubted the sheer impact of goal setting and finding your true purpose on the human spirit and your ability to create a life you could only have once dreamed of, then this episode is a must listen.
Chris goes beyond being an incredible advocate for individuals living with disabilities. Together, we also explore what is possible for the collective when we are willing to wholeheartedly acknowledge and embrace each individual's distinctive strengths and gifts.
My sincere hope is that this podcast is the catalyst you’ve been needing to finally take the time to understand what you value, and to set and go after your big goals because Actually, You Can.
