Montgomery Brewster finds himself the unexpected heir to a substantial fortune, only to discover that he stands to inherit seven times that amount! However, theres a twist he must spend every cent of his initial inheritance before his next birthday—just 357 days away—and end up with nothing to his name at the end of that time. As he embarks on this outrageous challenge, he quickly realizes that parting with such a vast amount of money is more difficult than he ever imagined. Succeed, and he becomes incredibly wealthy; fail, and he remains broke. This captivating tale inspired multiple film adaptations, including a memorable one featuring Richard Pryor in 1985. - Summary by TriciaG
