In the shadow of the dark legend surrounding the murderous rider of the horse with the loose shoe, Duncan Campbell embarks on a quest from his Highland home to carve out his destiny. Along the way, he encounters the woman whose fate intertwines with his own, facing not only her initial indifference but also the hostility of her family and the enigmatic forces of space and time. Can he finally break the ancient curse that haunts them both? Inspired by the rich Celtic tradition of the Second Sight, this fantasy romance pays homage to the legacy of George MacDonald, who influenced literary giants like C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Madeleine LEngle. It’s a whimsical daydream that serves as a mirror to human nature, revealing profound truths while standing as a work of art in its own right.
