The World Travel Market (WTM) London is a leading annual global event for the travel industry. It provides an opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

This week's show is based on my visit to WTM. The travel news section at the end of the show contains some of the news stories generated for the event.

But before that, there are some interviews with representatives from the Great Lakes USA region, a couple of them were on my show earlier this year.

Of course, as the Ryder Cup was held in Minnesota (one of the states that makes up the region), golf featured heavily. I wonder why...

The first topics covered this week are shopping in Minnesota and Prince.

Gayle Junnila, the marketing development manager at Explore Minnesota, says that event with the fall in the Pound, there are still bargains to be found in the state, including one store that gives overseas visitors a 10% discount (you'll have to listen to find out which one).

Gayle also mentions the Mall of America's 25th birthday in 2017. There are many events planned over the year to celebrate this.

Prince Paisley Park has recently opened. This attraction celebrates the life of Prince and his contributions to the music world. Gayle explains where it is, when to go and which tour to take.

The second guest is Cubs supporter Toby McCarrick. As well as being a very happy Cubs fan he is executive director, Great Lakes USA.

Toby was on the 19th May 2016 show taking about the region. This time we concentrate on sports - golf, baseball and the Indy 500.

Great Lakes USA launched a new brochure at WTM, Toby explains how you can get a copy.

Brian Said is the third guest. He is the vp global development at Choose Chicago. According to Abta, UK holidaymakers are taking more city breaks, so Brian suggests itineraries for couples and families to this city.

He also covers the food that can be found in the city, from Michelin-starred restaurants to the Twinkie.

My fourth guest is Christopher Pokourski, manager advertising at Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Christopher updates us on the developments coming in the USA's Comeback City. This includes the expansion of the Motown Museum.

My final guest is Dave Lorenz, vice-president Travel Michigan. Dave was on my 19th May 2016 show talking about Michigan in general.

This time Dave talks golf, coast guards and lighthouses. He also mentions the 60th anniversary in 2017 of the Mackinac Bridge. This bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac, and scares the life out of me.

He also talks about the 'Clicktivated' system used on the Pure Michigan website.
