Welcome back to another podcast from the Randalstown Hoops where we look back as Scott Brown fired a second-half winner against Dundee to stretch Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership in a Tayside tussle at Dens Park.

The skipper netted less than two minutes after the restart for his second goal of the season as the Hoops struggled to break down Paul Hartley’s dogged Dark Blues.

But the 1-0 victory maintains Celtic’s unbeaten start to the league season under Brendan Rodgers with Motherwell next up at Parkhead after the international break.

The Parkhead side returned from the high of their six-goal Champions League thriller against Manchester City and they looked to be suffering from the effects of that game at times.

Celtic should have had a penalty when Cammy Kerr - just moments after he was booked - brought down Erik Sviatchenko inside the box but referee Andrew Dallas was having none of it.

However, Brown made sure the visitors returned to Glasgow with all three points as he started and finished the move for the only goal of the match early in the second half to leave Dundee still without a home win over Celtic in 28 years.

Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Celtic,"Men against Boys" it was said after the end of the first leg by arch-Hun Souness. This time though there was no doubt that it was "The Bhoys" who were on top, and Celtic stormed through easily with two cracking goals, first one from Larsson and then a sublime headed goal from Sutton from a corner. We could have won by more!!!

Celtic 3-1 Stuttgart,In the opening minutes Maloney curled a free-kick straight into the hands of Stuttgart goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand from a promising position. Stuttgart then wasted a great chance to take the lead in the ninth minute. Lambert lost possession to Amanatidis just inside his own half and it was two against one for the Germans. But Aliaksandr Hleb's pass was too strong for his team-mate with Neil Lennon and Douglas both struggling to make up the ground.

Stuttgart suffered a major blow in 17 minutes, when Bordon was shown a straight red card for a professional foul on Stilian Petrov, who was clean away. But this did not prevent the Bundesliga side from taking the lead in the 27th minute. Balakov swung an inviting cross into the box and Kuranyi rose above Joos Valgaeren to head low past Douglas from 10 yards.

This spurred Celtic into action and they began to exert pressure on the Stuttgart defence.
Celtic got back on level terms in the 36th minute. Maloney chested AlanThompson's cross into the path of Lambert and he struck a sweet first-time shot past Hildebrand into the bottom corner of the net.

Then, with the half-time whistle approaching, Maloney took advantage of a poor clearance by Fernando Meira to bundle the ball under the advancing Stuttgart keeper from close range.

Didier Agathe could have stretched their advantage in the 49th minute when space opened up for him, but he sliced his right-foot shot well wide.
Celtic were well on top and the Stuttgart goalkeeper saved from Maloney before Meira made a vital block tackle on Agathe. And the pressure told with just over 20 minutes remaining when Petrov somehow squeezed a right-foot shot between Hildebrand and his post from close to the byline after Lambert's pass had sent him clear.

Liverpool 0-2 Celtic,After a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park, Celtic knew they needed to come out and attack from the off and they were more than willing to do so. They were soon on the offensive with Thompson intercepting a stray Hamann pass in a dangerous area before shooting over.

Henrik Larsson curled a free-kick from 30 yards that Jerzy Dudek acrobatically turned around the post. Larsson's strike partner Hartson was a constant menace for the Liverpool defence and he was just off target with two headers.

Steven Gerrard went close with a fine strike from well outside the area that Rab Douglas did well to parry out for a corner.

But for much of the opening period Liverpool looked content to sit back and absorb the pressure, knowing a 0-0 draw would be good enough. That was always likely to be a dangerous game against side who went into the tie having scored in their previous 49 outings. It was little surprise when they made it 50 on the stroke of half-time when Thompson scored from a free-kick.

Larsson could have added a second when he was one-on-one with the keeper, but Jamie Carragher got back well to deflect his first effort and the Swede's second attempt was wide of the mark.

Dudek had to be at his best to tip over as Larsson again threatened from a corner.

But he could do little about Hartson's stunning strike that made sure of the win and a place in the semis.
