Winston Peters has more questions to answer after leaked documents show he was in on the discussions about how the New Zealand First foundation was set up.
The Electoral Commission is looking at reports the party filtered donations through the foundation.
Winston Peters has been at pains to stress it as a party issue, and not one he's across as the Parliamentary leader.
Newstalk ZB political editor Barry Soper told Mike Hosking the issue is likely to continue to hang over Peters.
But he says ultimately it's up to the Electoral Commission to decide if there's been any wrongdoing.
"If politics is about perception, the perception is the party is all over this, even if Winston Peters says the party is arms length from it.
"I think you will see a lot more to be drip fed, but the place for this to be decided to find out whether or not it's legitimate is the electoral commission."
