At least one commentator says the Reserve Bank's decision to leave the Loan to Value Ratio unchanged was the wrong move.
It means most first home buyers still need a deposit of 20 percent and investors need 30 percent.
OneRoof's Ashley Church told Mike Hosking in 2013 the Reserve Bank promised LVRs would lower house prices and more recently claimed they'd saved the market from risky borrowers.
However, Church says there's no correlation between risky borrowing and reducing the number of loans in the market.
"The Auckland and in particular the New Zealand markets in general have been remarkably stable for 40 years."
