Season 3, Episode 5: The Living Full Out Show with Nancy Solari acknowledges the seriousness of depression and the darkness it casts on those who have felt its power. For some, traumatic events can be the catalyst that ignites these hopeless feelings. The struggle to break free from these overwhelming emotions can be painful and consuming.

Our first caller has decided to put school on hold, move out on her own and focus on a career. She wants to know if it is normal if she doesn’t feel like she is missing out. Nancy assures her that she is the author of her own life’s story and to be ok with her personal path, regardless of what others are doing.

Our second caller Megan fears she is a people pleaser and struggles with using the word no. She asks Nancy how she can improve without feeling guilty. Nancy gives her strategies to use in her daily life to better gage when she must put herself first and when it is ok to help others.

Our inspirational guest is Jacy Good. Jacy and her parents were in a collision with a distracted driver talking on his cell phone. Although severely injured, Jacy miraculously survived but unfortunately parents were killed instantly. Now paralyzed on her left side she is an inspiration to all and she is now an advocate and spokesperson against distracted driving.

Our last caller asks Nancy how she can help her 25-year-old daughter understand her friends don’t always have the best advice. Nancy advises her how to talk with her daughter in a way that is more relatable.

Depression is not always easy to talk about, and isn’t always understood by those who have never struggled with it. But when we learn to express our most vulnerable thoughts and seek help, we can be living full out.
