And we can always go back and listen to our 60s times when we had social, political. and cultural change. And our 70s times when we had political changes like the rise and fall of disco. We’ce got 80s and we've got 90s. We’ve got music to listen to. There is still a lot of music that we may have not heard from the past.
Let's talk about today's music. Compared to the days of old, some of it is just pitiful. I probably would not know that if I had not been born in the 70s. My ears would not know the real drums, the real bass. piano, violins, and horns. The real sound of Orchestra. My brain would not have known to catch on to the signal from music if I had not been born in the 70s to know what's real. I wouldn't know the sound of a natural voice in music if I had not been born in the 70s.
A lot is missing in music today, and there is impact on music. Singers, songwriters, and musicians get their inspiration from their experiences and surroundings. They have technology now, and that has brought change to music. Things are made easy for us to do today. It's not like the days of old when you really had to know how to sing or play an instrument or really know how to write a great song from the heart. All of that can bring change and have an impact on music. Even the way we buy music today and how music is promoted.
Like in the days of old, we're going through changes today in these times with music. Ever changing times because what worked in the past may not work in the future. We”ve got to learn, grow, and embrace new ideas. Not only with music but with other things too.
I'm Gail Nobles today's topic: Music and Times.
