The death of Francesca is a pinpoint of trauma in your life. You will never forget it, and you will always be able to recall the pain, and it will always be this intense when you recall it, because of the traumatic nature of the experience. It is embedded now in your psyche, and it isn't something that can heal. Perhaps it isn't something that you are supposed to heal. It means the love you have for her is real, because love is the only thing here that is eternal with us. What is real cannot be destroyed. The pain of this loss is real because your love for her is real, as is the hope and certainty that you will be with her again. You are real. Your love for her is real. That means she is real. She is not dead, she is just not in her body anymore. When you are with her again, it will seem as though no time has passed. But yes, now we grieve, and we grieve for the way she left us, and we miss her bright spark of life here, and the world seems darker, and the only way we can go on is to not think about it. But sometimes you have to let some of the pressure bleed off. You have to recall it and cry over never being able to see her smile again, hear her voice, feel her solid presence in your arms. You have to let the destroyed part of you express itself sometimes. Just not all the time. We are here to bear witness to this grieving, Zeph, and we mourn with you, and hold you up with our love for you. And we are here inbetween the worst of it, too, for when you aren't taking the tremulous breaths full of unshed tears. You aren't alone.
