In the past thirty years or so, interest in Bible prophecy has been on the rise. Many theologians and laymen believe that the return of Jesus is close. The wife of our greatest modern Evangelist (now retired), the great Dr. Billy Graham, has commented that if God did not return soon he would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. The late Dr. John Walvoord, known as the "Dean of Prophecy" and presently in the presence of Jesus, believed that this generation has more reason to expect the return of Christ. God has ALWAYS warned before sending judgment. God called John the Baptist as a prophet to herald in the Lamb of God and he is using another to announce the coming of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah! Though we are told by Jesus that we will not know the day or hour (Matthew 24:36), nowhere in Scripture does it indicate that we will not know when it is close. In fact, in Hebrews 10:25 we are admonished to be looking for the Day of the Lord (when God will pour out His wrath on the world). Jesus told Israel to look for signs of His return bodily to earth and they will know that it is near, even at the doors (Matthew 24:33). They will know and God wants us to know.
