In the year 2000 Kilmeaden woman Mary Sue Connolly made a film called Glenafooka. It explored Ireland’s relationship with fairies and ghosts.
Some Listeners might have heard the name Glenafooka before, as it’s a townsland in Clonea Power and when the film was made 20 years ago Mary Sue interviewed many older people from the area.
Long ago, it was believed that dolmens were portals between this world and the next, so our reporter Aoife Kearns met Mary Sue at a Knockeen Dolmen in Butlerstown.
